The latest Almond Shipping Report indicates steady demand as supply starts to dwindle and struggles some to cover customer needs like we saw last year.
Based on the latest report, final supply will come in 30 million pounds shorter than last year. This is one of the factors adding to a firming price market that should last through new crop.
It appears that Nonpareils will also have to substitute for Cals and Butte/Padres in order to meet demand of those varieties. We continue to see a strong domestic market desire for almond milk, flour, butter and other plant based products.
Talk will move to new crop, weather conditions and total crop estimates. This will have some bearing on the market prices, but it is too early to predict where next year's estimate will be.
